Too Faced Pretty Rebel Palette: Swatches and Review

Too Faced has a fun palette out for fall. It is so fetch.

Pretty Rebel is sparkly and gold on the outside and wrapped in black ribbon.

Inside the palette are 10 pans of eyeshadow in varied colors and textures.

Some are matte, some are glittery, and some are shimmery.

All of the colors feel smooth, and are easy to work with.

I love the variety of colors included. I can see quite a few options, and I think this palette will be fun to play with. My personal favorite is the hot pink, named Totally Fetch.

Overall, Pretty Rebel is a fun palette with great quality eyeshadows. Bonus points for Too Faced ditching the bulky design of their previous palettes!

Dior Gri Gri Addict Extreme: Swatches and Review

If I had to pick one lipstick formula for the rest of my life, Dior Addict Extreme would be my choice. The formula is light and glossy without being too slippery. I get up to four hours of wear, and the darker colors fade to an even stain.

Gri Gri is a nude pink color with no shimmer.

I have a few Addict Extremes in light nude colors, so let's compare.

Incognito is a greyed nude pink. Gri Gri is balance of pink and peach tones. Cherie Bow is a rosier pink. St. Tropez is a light peach.

Of all the Addict Extreme colors I have, I'd say that Gri Gri is the most neutral. I used it in this look:

The Too Faced Pretty Rebel palette is on my eyes, and Cargo Los Cabos blush is my cheek color.

Overall, Gri Gri is a lovely versatile nude that will see much love from me :)

MAC Metallics: Swatches, Review, and Look

I rarely post reviews for MAC collections, since the items disappear from stores before I can get a post up. I wish MAC would calm down with the Limited Edition craze and let items be available for longer. I am more likely to purchase an item when I have time to research and find reviews online.

On to the pictures....

I purchased the four metallic single eyeshadows released with MAC Nudes & Metallics. They are all Veluxe Pearl finishes, and they remind me of a time when I was absolutely obsessed with MAC eyeshadows.

These colors are are unique and gorgeous! The textures are soft and intensely pigmented. The shimmer level is a notch below frosty- just perfectly illuminating.

I had in mind that this was going to be a close match to my Tom Ford Burnished Amber quad. The color scheme is similar, but one brand falls short on the texture and it rhymes with Tom Ford. Oops.

The Tom Ford quad is lovely, but it takes more work to build up the intensity to my desired level. If the copper red color combination is your thing, definitely track down this MAC collection.

Here is a look with two of the shadows:

I used MAC A Natural Flirt on my lid, and put Crimson Tryst in the crease. I used Brazenly to deepen the crease and define the outer V. Dior Coral Glow Nude Bronze is my cheek color, and Lipstick Queen Saint Nude Pink is on my lips.

Overall, I am thrilled with the Nudes & Metallics collection, and I hope MAC continues releasing winners.

Bare Minerals Power Neutrals: Swatches and Review

It seems like everyone has come out with a neutral palette lately, and Bare Minerals is no exception.

Power Neutrals is an eight pan eyeshadow palette filled with cool toned shades in varying finishes.

I also purchased the Moxie lipstick called Take Charge.

Take Charge is a rosy light brown. It is deeper than nude on me, but it gives a soft neutral effect that will match many eye looks.

The Power Neutrals palette has a few matte colors, two with sparkle, and one with shimmer. The sparkle shades are soft, not glittery. All of the shades are nicely pigmented and go on smoothly.

Take Charge is evenly pigmented, with a smooth cream finish.

For this look I used the top row sparkly cream color on my inner corners, the shimmery bronze on the lid, and the deep matte brown in my outer V. I used the bottom row light matte brown as a blending color.

My blush is MAC Royal Sunset from the All About Orange collection. I used MAC Flamingo on my lips.

I think the Bare Minerals Power Neutrals palette is a nice addition to my neutral palette hoard collection.

Chanel Saga Rouge Coco Shine: Swatches and Review

Chanel Saga Rouge Coco Shine is a neutral pink color.
It offers more coverage than the first batch of Rouge Cocos, but slightly less shine. Saga leaves a light stain behind after it wears away.
Rouge Coco Shines do not last long- one or two hours- but I like the sheer healthy color they give.
Romance is more blue toned and also sheerer than Saga. Flirt is a sheer peach with shimmer.

Saga has been a staple in my summer makeup looks. It works well with peach or pink blush.

Overall, Saga is a must have if you love glossy pink lips! It would look lovely on a variety of skin tones.

Chanel Mystique Rouge Coco: Swatches and Review

Chanel Mystique is a medium apricot with a satin finish.

There are no obvious shimmer particles, but it does have a luminous finish once applied.

I have a few colors in the same family, but none are too close to Mystique.

Too Faced Juicy Melons and Chanel Paradis are both much pinker. YSL Corail Intuitive is more intense than Mystique.

On the lips, Mystique adds life without screaming coral. It brightens my lip color nicely and feels smooth during the 4- 5 hours of wear time.

Overall, summer coral perfection!

Dior Mystic Metallics Bonne Étoile Eyeshadow Palette: Swatches and Review

As soon as I saw Dior Bonne Étoile featured on The Non-Blonde, I knew it was a must have for me.

I am in love with the star embossing on the eyeshadows, and the color combination is gorgeous!
Let's take a closer look.
Closer.....

All of the shades are shimmery, as in most Dior quints. I feel like I could make quite a few looks from the unique color combination.

The brown in the center and the olive color seem to have the least shimmer, and will work well in the crease. The beige, mint, and turquoise all have a more ethereal glow and shimmery finish.

I don't have any exact dupes, but I think comparison shots always help.

MAC Bare My Soul is less shimmery and has more depth in color. As a side note, the MAC quad is a new absolute favorite in my rotation! If you can still find it, I highly recommend getting one.

Guerlain Coup de Foudre has a richer and more opaque texture and leans more to the greenish side of the color spectrum.

Lastly, NARS Rajasthan is deeper and less shimmery. I can get a very simple neutral everyday eye look from the NARS, but the Dior seems to have more pizazz and dimension.

Overall, I am thrilled with Dior Bonne Étoile. It is a unique addition to my palette collection, and the detailed star embossing is a nice bonus too. I will post some looks and more thoughts as I am able to use it this upcoming week.
