My Summer Job

Here is a look at what my morning entails.....

Have a few cups of coffee and get dressed. Go sit on front porch which needs to be refinished.

Try to dress baby. Watch him undress himself.

Laugh at his funny faces. Try not to pinch his cheeks off.

Watch kids catch bugs. I only help catch lizards, frogs, and snails. No bugs! Those are gross.

Receive flowers from admirers.

Like the bug box? My husband got his last shipment of bees in it and cleaned it out for the boys.

Can you help us find more grasshoppers? (heck no!)

There is a tiny one.

Pretty sweet!

NARS Love!

NARS is a brand I have a little of, but the amount is growing steadily. I love Sheer Glow Foundation and the Loose Powder still a year later. They have amazing blush, lipstick, and eyeshadow as well. I have had nothing but great customer service from NARS. A recent set of codes pushed me over the edge.

I ordered Amour and Exhibit A blushes and Heat Wave lipstick. Look at the awesome deluxe samples on the left. KSUGAR for the lip gloss Duo, and LAGUNASUMMER for the mini Laguna Bronzer. I believe there are minimum amounts you have to meet for the freebies.

Amour is a soft peachy pink.

Exhibit A is a bright orange. I barely tapped my skunk brush in this for a light flush.

Laguna is a medium bronzer with subtle gold flecks.

Heat Wave is a matte retro orange red.

I will be posting some FOTD pictures later this week featuring my new NARS goodies!

Enigma FOTD

No, not Chanel Enigma. I want the new quad, but I think it would be pretty redundant in my sea of gray eyeshadow. That's not to say I won't purchase it, but I am giving it time. In the meantime I pulled out my best grays and pink highlighter.

It seems like just yesterday you came home from the hospital :

You weren't the happiest baby, but you sure were cute sleeping on your belly :

You loved to suck your middle fingers, and still do :

Uh oh!

You love to eat and try new things :

You are growing into such a handsome four year old boy!

Pleasures of Paris FOTD

I love this palette and used it for weeks when I first got it. Time to show it some more love.

I opted to skip foundation and forgo liner and mascara on the bottom since the forecast high is 98 today.

Reject Bin FOTD

I was in the mood to shop a few days ago, so I hit up my pile of reject makeup. Don't feel sorry for my unloved pile, it will find good and caring homes eventually. Here are a couple recoveries : Stila Charmed Palette and Urban Decay Honey 24/7 Liner. I am still unsure if Honey is golden or jaundiced. It would be lovely on a deeper olive skin tone.

Adventures in Organization

Have a gander at my OCD organization. Here are a few random tips that might help you, or at least give you an understanding of what I subject my family to.

#1 White Board

I have an erasable white board on the side of my fridge. Every week after I plan my meals and shop for groceries, I write down the recipes I have chosen. That way I have some clue later in the week as to why I bought the food I did. I also write things down as I use them up so I won't forget next grocery trip. Sometimes the huff of a marker is all I need midday for a pick me up.

#2 Laundry Baskets

I use these in my kids room to organize their toys and store under the bed. They are cheap, easy for the kids to use, and fit perfectly under the bed out of sight. I have also used them to pack for car trips. They help keep all of the miscellaneous things that don't go in suitcases together (extra towels, food, toilet paper, etc).

#3 Goodwill

Seriously. Get rid of the crap. Some of you may not have kids, but I have three which means three birthdays and three Christmases. That adds up to a lot of toys over one year. Also clean out your own closet and cabinets regularly. The things you are not using could go to someone who actually needs them.

#4 Pantry Week

I can't think of a good name for this, but once every month or two, I have a week where I see how many things we can use up without having to spend much at the grocery store. Get creative and save some money too. I hate to have a pantry cluttered with things that will go bad.

NOTD : Absolutely Alice Blingfest

Why have I left this untried for so long? Probably the dread of having to remove all of this glitter. We watched Alice in Wonderland yesterday (which was fantastic), so I finally had to give this color a spin. Teal and gold glitter in a clear base. Now if I could just have Alice's hair!

Coco is a gorgeous pigment. I'm not sure if it is permanent, but if you can get it, GO! It is a lovely neutral taupe that flashes different colors depending what colors you pair with it.

In other news, I love Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, but it didn't stand the test of time today. It melted a bit and caused my mascara to smudge under my eyes. That was with a day inside with AC. The coverage is so perfect though.

NOTD : Hard Candy Mr. Wrong

He is oh so right! This polish is complex and hard to describe. A bluish purple sheer base with gold glitter and silver holographic shimmer as well. Very cool. Warning : Do not stare at hands while operating a motor vehicle!

DF , Lancome, and CCO Shopping

I had to hit up the outlets at least once (okay maybe twice) while I was at the beach. The Designer Fragrance & Lancome Store was where the deals were! They had an awesome $5 table that I pillaged. Here is the resulting loot :

Located far from the $5 table were some blushes I had on my wish list. These were from CCO:
